Nestled within the vibrant mixed-use precinct of Hutt Street, YWCA Hutt Street is a multi-residential development designed specifically for women. The building is located on a 320 sqm site and provides 24 apartments, with expansive views to the east, west and south. Referencing the café + restaurant vernacular of Hutt Street, the ground floor houses a commercial tenancy that forges a strong engagement with the street whilst providing a high level of security to the occupants. The built form is intentionally simple. A gridded glazed façade, which supports a more complex varied form set back from the main building to visually reduce the scale. The building offers a contextually sensitive built form that accentuates and compliments the rich surrounding fabric.
