Originally constructed in 1880, the Austral plays an important role in the heritage and urban interface of Adelaide’s East End.

The Austral Hotel redevelopment featured the demolition of the existing Beer Garden, a portion of the ground floor and the construction of a new enclosed beer garden. The new addition meets specific acoustic insulation parameters while providing toilets, a service yard and associated modifications to the kitchen, ground floor bar areas and basement.
