Henley Residence

Traditional Territory: Kaurna Country

Henley Residence was originally conceived as a second storey addition to an existing 1940 ‘s home on a steep, elevated sandhill.

To address concerns with the overall composition of the second storey when viewed from the street, the existing building was cloaked to allow the two-storey element to be compositionally viewed as one element.

The home comprises three zones which relate directly to the prevailing topography.  A choice of external areas offer relief from the varied climatic conditions experienced next to the sea.

Henley Residence demonstrates how compact, yet challenging site conditions can be developed to provide contextually positive and responsive outcomes for a home.
